本日、2014年度、第10回目の公共政策セミナーが開かれました。
内容は以下の通りです。

概要：

There are few knowledge concerning retractions of medical papers due to ethical reasons. We investigated paper retractions due to incompliance with human subject protection requirements. Our survey on retraction notices in medical journals from 1981 to 2011 identified 99 papers which were mainly retracted because of this reason. We found that these retractions were mainly explained as resulting from the absence of “ethical review” or “informed consent” per se, without sufficient clarification of the researcher's intention, the scale of hazard to human subjects, and the value of research results. Most of them were continuously cited by other researchers, even after their retraction. Editors should clarify how they weigh the potential benefits against risks involved in each decision on retraction, and also solve the current ambiguous status of residual data included in these retracted papers.
